If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to book a shoot with Sweet and Sauer Studios, you’re in the right place!
Whether you’re planning a family session, a wedding, or something totally unique, I like to keep things simple, flexible, and fun. Unlike many full-time photographers, I balance Sweet and Sauer Studios alongside other creative work, which means I can offer a bit more flexibility with scheduling. You won’t need to fight over calendar slots a year in advance or stress over seasonal booking deadlines. I take on a limited number of sessions each year so I can give every client the attention they deserve, and I do my best to accommodate last-minute changes whenever possible (life happens, I get it!).

The first step is simply getting in touch. You can reach out personally if we know each other, or fill out my contact form with the details of your shoot or event.
Once I receive your message, I’ll get back to you within 48 hours with my availability, a pricing breakdown, and any follow-up questions. If you’re unsure of a location, I’m always happy to suggest a few favourite spots based on the vibe or look you’re going for, or we can try somewhere new that’s special to you.

If you decide to move forward (yay!), I’ll send over a simple contract that outlines all the important details like your name, shoot date, time, location, service type, and a few standard boring terms and conditions. You’ll just need to initial, sign, and send it back, and I’ll sign it too so we both have copies.
I currently don’t require deposits, even for big events like weddings, and full payment isn’t due until one month before a wedding or on the day of the shoot for everything else. (Yes, I know most photographers would call that a business faux pas, but it’s worked well for me so far! Just note that this might change in the future).
Once your signed contract is in, your date is officially locked in!

Depending on the type of session, communication leading up to your shoot will look a little different:
For weddings: I’ll reach out about a month before to go over your timeline, shot list, and any final details. I have handy templates for both if you’d like a little help organizing.
For other shoots: I’ll usually touch base a few days before to confirm the weather, finalize our meeting place, and adjust if needed.
This step is all about making sure you feel confident and prepared, so if you ever have questions or ideas, I’m just an email away.

This is the fun part! My approach is relaxed, candid, and encouraging. I’ll guide you through poses and prompts to help you feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera, no awkward “what do I do with my hands?” moments here.
Most sessions (outside of weddings or large events) are booked for an hour, though we often wrap up a bit earlier once we’ve captured everything we need.

After your session, I’ll remind you of when to expect your final photos or video — usually anywhere from 24 hours to 1 month, depending on the project.
Once everything is ready, you’ll receive a Dropbox link to download your full gallery. From there, you can share, print, or post your images however you like. All I ask is that you tag Sweet and Sauer Studios (@sweetandsauerstudios) when sharing online. Word of mouth is the most effective way that I get new clients so sharing truly means the world to me and helps me keep doing what I love.
A Few Final Notes
Need help styling? I can share outfit guides and inspo boards if you’re unsure what to wear.
Bringing kids or pets? Perfect! I love capturing the chaos and the candid moments that come with them.
Want to add video or extend your session? Just ask! I offer flexible add-ons for both.
At the end of the day, my goal is to make your photography experience simple, comfortable, and filled with real moments you’ll want to relive again and again.
If you’re thinking about booking a shoot or just have a few questions, let’s chat! I’d love to capture your story, your way.
